The tale of Bob Husselmeyer

Part 1

Let me introduce Bob Husselmeyer to you, he lives in a northern European country called Finway. Bob is studying at a university with 20 000 other students in a city called Linselling. He is studying something he thinks is very boring. He has been studying it for four years.

So, why does he study something he think is boring? Probably becasuse he has been doing for so long and now thinks he must finish it. A more interesting question would be why he started. I don't think he knows himself but probably he had high expectations of himself and a bad confidence. That bad confidence made him think that he didn't have any value unless he got a good education and made much money. Now he has grown wiser. Now he knows he won't have any value even if he does that. Also far from everyone who graduates from his difficult program at the university gets a good job.

One day Bob got a leaflet contaning an ad for an online poker site, containing a bonus code. Bob who despite his hopelessness was a rather creative person saw this as an opportunity to start playing poker and perhaps earn a lot of money. Perhaps a desperate hope, since he was looking for ways to flee out of his gloomy future. This was in the spring and the flowers blossomed and the sun was shining, and in Bob's heart there was a little light of excitement too.

Before he started playing at the poker site he asked all kind of questions regarding bonus clearing and other stuff since he was new to poker and not the wild and crazy guy who just did something before knowing what they meant. The support personnel must have found him a little strenuous, but they answered his questions. It was not a mistake by them to take the effort, since Bob would be a profitable person for the company, as time would tell.

At first he started playing with play money, but quickly got bored with it. It wasn't for the love of the game he played, oh no. Then he found an offer to get a few dollars for free to play with at a poker site - no deposit required. He read a poker book and after that he started to play a little fixed limit texas hold'em at the micro limit tables. He didn't win much but didn't lose much either, and even today he has some dollars left there. After getting a little used to playing he went back to the first poker site and made a deposit big enough to claim the $75 bonus - but he had to clear it first with 375 raked hands. He was nervous about playing and a little afraid to lose money, since he saw it as a little prestigous not to lose. He started playing a little and the first few times he lost money. After that e won some and at the end of the 375 raked hands he had the bonus plus a small winning from playing.

He started hanging out at poker forums, he probably did that even before he cleared the bonus. Soon he realised that there was money to be made starting a poker site. Since he was in it for the money this caught his interest.
