If you thought that women can’t do what men can then you need to sit down with Clonie Gowan for a game of poker. She will beat you (badly if you are simply good) and then give you a smile for your defeat, or even a hug to make you be a little less hard on yourself. She is one of the most charming women poker players that you will ever meet. And her story is interesting to listen to especially when you learn of how she came to stumble upon the game and actually excel at it.
It was a stormy time when she was welcomed into this world and that very storm is the very metaphorical word that you could use to describe the success that she has been able to get. Being athletic she did not shy from letting her talents show in high school. With looks such as hers she was able to win Miss Teen Oklahoma at a young age of 15. She went though college and settled for a travel agency that she ran professionally. It was at this time that she felt a desire inside of her that she had to go for something out of the ordinary. Adrenaline sports were her choice.
To fulfill her new found dreams, she landed in Costa Rica where she went for scuba diving. Deep sea life must have got the best of her. And that is not only it. She also discovered a poker side of her that she never knew existed. It was one of those WPT events that she thought of buying in to and surprisingly she placed tenth, in the money. It was at this time that she felt like she wanted to play poker professionally.
In the following season’s WPT Ladies Night Invitational she was up against poker players gone pro and it looked hard to pull through. She did win the tournament and all the jokes that she had to sit through in her first try-outs paid off. With her looks the cameras could not get enough of her and life has never been the same for her since then.
Clonie has not recorded much success bigger than that in the days following that but she still thinks she has all it takes to finally settle in with the greats and even beat them at their own domain. At the WPT, she has only managed the 31 slot and a tournament score that has an impressive figure of 6 plus is yet to be hers. But Full Tilt Poker has her back all through as she still hopes to sit in the final table and prove her worth. She is an exceptional character and her desire to go places where others have shied away from is what makes her stand out.
If you are wondering if she is hitched then yes, she has a boyfriend so if you thought you could get lucky with her then you can let go of the dream because it will not happen.
