Poker Movies

Cincinnati Kid is easily quoted as one of the best poker movies ever made and with good reason. The Cincinnati Kid revolves around a poker player quite young, that struggles to fight his way to the best in the poker playing business. If you get to watch it, you can be sure to get one or two things about poker. Perhaps a more familiar movie is Rounders that revolves around poker playing.

One of the major attractions to the poker movies besides the poker playing is the dialogues that often leave one smiling over and over. The suspense is included and that is just what makes a great poker movie.

So the entertainment industry has offered some time to creating of poker movies. Their aim is not only to entertain. If you paid closer attention to the games themselves instead of just the drama, you might learn a tip or two that can help you improve your game by a notch. You might be surprised that some of the tricks used in the movies are the ones used in real life.

One tip that you get from them is the art of figuring out your opponents just by looking at their faces. Eyes give away so much that we might think and that explains why some people like to wear sunglasses. They have uncovered the truth that their eyes divulge information that needs to stay secret. If you find a face that has not even the slightest hint of cheerfulness then you can guess that they are not doing too good. All these teach us one lesson. We might be giving away the hints by the look on our faces and that could explain why you did not do so well on your last game.

Separating of the emotional from the physical in a poker game is one of the key things you need to keep in mind as you play. The pressure is bound to be much but whatever you do you cannot let it show that the pressure is weighing you down. Getting intoxicated in the middle of a poker game is not the best idea unless your aim is to lose all the money that you bet. If there is one thing that you need to give a game of poker then it is your undivided attention. Booze does not in any way help in this as it distorts your clear thinking and you end up making less than perfect decisions that cost you the game.

It’s good to be confident and all but don’t let it get to your head. Once your ego kicks in, it drives out any opportunity that you had of winning and in the end the results are not so good. If you have worked your way to the best possible hand, then you should try to stick to it and only show it when the circumstances are most suitable for you. You never know- that could make you win the pool!
