Scene 6 begins
The scene opens outside the village post office were stands twr506 hand almost on the doorknob
twr506 wait up calls Denisey from behind .
Hello denisey says twr506 how r u today
Oh I'm fine thank you says denisey
Coming from the other direction Beverley arrives in front of the post office (slightly breathless) and says is there still no news about the missing people, I worry about CMtwr506 especially.
No apparently no one has seen or heard from them for a long time now.
Just then the door to the post office opens and jojomacca appears.
Good morning you three says jojomacca well there is no Sunday newspapers, no post and no bread today.
Why what's happened says Denisey
The van that brings the Sunday newspapers and the post hasn't arrived says jojomacca and its now 4 hours late.
And the lack of bread asks Beverly
Well hovis has not been around for a few days now and he has usually delivered the bread by now says jojomacca
Last time I saw hovis says twr506 he said he was going to the other villages to see if our missing people where there

Arriving at that very second (or it might have been the second before that or even the one after) and coming together from the direction of the woods is flojo and CW

The crowd look at flojo with a certain amount of puzzlement
Don't you realise that apart from baby and yschi its the men who are disappearing says flojo if you look around there seems to be only twr506, Bobby, jojomacca and CW left out of all the men
Your darn well right flojo says Daniella I wondered what was different on Saturday there were only those four men and Johnny at the weddings night.
I thought it was just the theme that frightened them away says Denisey but now you mention it I haven't seen another man around for a long while.
The crowd's mood turns sombre (that means unhappy)
Well CW says flojo what are you going to do about it

Seeing the blank look on CW's face flojo stops

I telephoned HQ's last week says CW they said they had not got any reports of missing people and could not help as the council were building bypasses or something and all available manpower was on traffic control.
Well CW says Daniella as flojo says what are you going to do about it.
Oh blimey I don't know says CW if you lot are so clever you suggest something that I could do.
Well says Happyali you could go and search the woods to see if any one is lying hurt, or wandering lost
The crowd collectively mutters its agreement
ME! On my own! Says CW go into the dark lonely cold friendless woods ME! On my own!
The twitch that had been missing for weeks slowly starts in CW's left eye
Yes you're a big boy now says Martha and its your job
OH! mummy help says CW I don't want to go on my own, I'll stay here and look after all you women instead.
No says Beverly we have got twr506 and bobby and Johnny to look after us, if your afraid of the woods jojomacca will go with you.
I ma not afraid of the woods says CW it's the Boogey men that live in there that frighten me mummy has told me all about them.
Hey up says jojomacca why me why not twr506 or bobby why me I don't like the bogey men either
Twr506 is the acting Chairperson of Elders while CMtwr506 is missing and so he can not go and bobby has the pub to run.
Yes well I have the post office to run says jojomacca smugly with a smile on his face.
But says twr506 you have already said that you have no post and no bread and no Sunday newspapers because no deliveries were made so you have nothing to look after.
CW looks at jojomacca and jojomacca looks at CW both with looks of horror on their faces
Go on get on with it says Beverly
CW and jojomacca walk of towards the woods holding hands and the crowd could hear them saying
"lions and tigers and bears oh my"

"I'm not afraid of no boogeymen"
"I'm not afraid of no boogeymen"
The women and twr506 stand and watch them go.
Across the road inside of Beverly's Bloomers bobby watches the group through the window
And turns to Shellbri and says well that's the start of it darlin I guess we had better put an advert in the village news about Saturday, what shall we do this week
Shellbri looks at bobby and says what about "Pirates Night"
Ask yourself were would Johnny go
