The feeling of repression stems from so many people causing such big scenes at the tables that moderators get to the point of "Zero Tolerance."
Same thing happens to police officers. It just gets to the point where they need to draw a line somewhere and sometimes people don't understand why 'blanket' laws apply to them.
Once when I was relatively new here, I typed in this exactly: "Sh*t..."
I was kindly told by a mod not to do that....it's not allowed. My reaction was to apologize and never do it again.
This site is filled with minors, so it's our job as adults to keep in line with the PG-13 stance this site takes.
I've seen people begin to argue back with the mod trying to do their job, tell them they are being unfair. I've seen people go, "yeah, whatever" which is filled with apathy. I've seen people flood the chat box because they didn't like what a mod said.
On this end of the scale, you might see them as repressive. Spend some time watching what they have to deal with on a regular basis. Watch how people put them down, tell them that they suck -that they are on a high horse or a power trip.
It's not an easy job to try to play at one table, while breaking up a fight on another -while a third is having people not stand up. Try playing while your msn is being flooded with requests by players for help.
I appreciate your sentiment, but truly if you love this site -make another account (which is very cool that this site allows banned people to still play with a new account) and continue forth -abiding the rules set by the man paying for a place for you to play for free. |
