FOOTBALL SHOWCASE

Dear Daniel,

Thank you for your application to Football Showcase.

I am delighted to tell you, that after reviewing your application, I feel that you would be a suitable candidate for a place on our programme.

I would like to invite you to join our ProTraining Academy at Lilleshall National Sports Centre. This is currently the facility that England use in preparation for upcoming International games and is regarded as one of the best sporting facilities in Britain. This year the Academy will begin on October 27th.

The ProTraining Academy is a Residential Academy that will last for 5 days and will provide you with the opportunity to receive first class professional coaching. At the end of the week, you will have the opportunity to display your talents to Scouts and Coaches from Professional Football Clubs.

OVERVIEW

As you may be aware, Football Showcase is a specialist company that offer an unrivalled service. Our goal is to give a platform to those players that haven't yet had the opportunity to prove that they are worthy of becoming a Professional Footballer.

In recent years some clubs have scaled down their scouting network as part of a cost-cutting exercise. Therefore, it has become impossible for some players to prove themselves as there simply isn't anybody to notice them!

Our concept enables clubs to come and see those youngsters that may have otherwise slipped through the net. In addition the coaching and training that you will receive over the course of the week will help to prepare you for a career in Professional Football.

ACADEMY

The Academy is based at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre in Shropshire. In previous years, Lilleshall was the base for the FA Elite Academy, which helped to produce many top class International players such as Michael Owen and Sol Campbell.

The facilities at Lilleshall are among the best in the country. As such we believe that this is the ideal setting to allow you to display your talents to scouts and coaches from professional football clubs,

SERVICES

Football Showcase will provide the following services while you are at the Academy.

· 5 Days of Professional Coaching. All coaches are FA and UEFA Licensed coaches.

· Our staff consists of top coaches such as:

Derek Fazackerly: Former Manchester City, Newcastle United and England coach.

Glenn Keeley: Former Blackburn Rovers player and coach.

Joe McBride: Former Everton player and Celtic FC youth coach.

Joe McLaughlin: Former Chelsea FC captain, former first team coach at Millwall FC.

Steve Butler: Spent last season as Assistant Manager at Stevenage Borough.

· All players will be assessed and graded by our team of Coaches. Any player who shows 'outstanding ability' will be put forward for further trials at Professional Football Clubs. This is made possible through our close links within the football industry.

· On the final day you will play in our Showcase Event. This will involve a 90 minute game that will be attended by Scouts and Coaches from Professional Clubs. At least two Premier League scouts will be in attendance.

· State of the Art facilities. The ProTraining Academy is based at Lilleshall National Sports Centre. This is the former base of the Football Association Elite Academy.

Full Address:

Lilleshall National Sports Centre, Lilleshall, Shropshire, TF10 9AT

· Accommodation for 4 nights will be provided within the facility.

· 3 meals a day, plus sports drinks and energy bars.

· Personalised Nike training kit (top, shorts, socks, warm-up top and tracksuit).

· Nutritional and lifestyle seminars.

· Fitness Testing carried out by a qualified Sports Scientist. Tests include Endurance Tests, Speed Tests and Core Stability Tests.

· A physio will be present throughout the week to deal with any injuries.

· Player Development Plan – outlining areas for improvement and a programme for you to follow after you have left the Academy.

· The Showcase Event will be filmed for Video Analysis. A DVD will then be produced and made available to the scouts and coaches. You will also receive a copy.

· Players will have full use of the facilities available at Lilleshall during the evenings. This includes the fitness centre, tennis courts, swimming pool, sauna and the golf course.

SUCCESS STORIES

Last year we had many players who earned Professional contracts or were invited for extended trials.

Tim Clancy from London is one such player. After attending our Academy, Tim signed a 2 year Pro Contract with Scottish Premier League team Kilmarnock FC.

Ciaran McGuigan from Belfast has been offered a Pro Contract at Motherwell FC. However, he is also being targeted by a string of top English Premier League clubs and will be going for extended trials before making a decision.

Nicky Weightman from Edinburgh is another player who has been successful. After attending our Academy last summer, Nicky had trials with 3 Major League Soccer clubs. He is now playing for Dallas Tornados FC in the USA Premier Development League.

OPPORTUNITY

The cost to take part in the next Football Showcase - ProTraining Academy is just £690.

To take advantage of this opportunity, please return the Registration Form (attached document) along with your payment of £690 before August 20th 2008.

If you cannot download the attachment, then please send me an email and I will send you a copy by post.

Yours sincerely,

David McLaughlin

Dan mate
If you can afford to do this and your comfortable in your mind that you may pay this money and come away with nothing but the experience,
Go for it ! you never know you may get lucky.
But look at the success stories they have picked what they consider to be the best, I'm personally not that impressed.
As Doc Say's above a bit of further research on the scheme would be advisable before a final decision.
I wish you good luck Dan whatever you do

If it's the real deal I think it can be worth it. But as CMtwr506 says you should probably look them up a bit more before deciding.

For example it might be interesting to know how many players that participated last year and how many of them that got a deal.

Perhaps it would be a nice idea to make up a list of questions and call them on their "fone" (seems they made a mistake on the spelling, but could happen to anyone) "http://www.footballshowcase.net/Contact Details/".

If you were close to getting into the Arsenal team the chances of getting into a lesser team might be good.

Sorry to be a killjoy but "surely you cannot be serious"
Having been involved in running football teams and also gaining coaching badges up to EUFA level I can tell you quite categorically that its a load of rubbish. Dan, if you are good enough and have the talent, you will be spotted mate. If you are as good as you say you are then at your age you should already be playing at a significant standard. If this is the case then scouts from all pro clubs already have a network where players will be noted and watched regularly (whether you realise it or not). Don't throw cash at something like this.Keep performing to the best of your ability and good news will follow if you are indeed good enough.

IM FULLY AWARE OF THAT CRAIG BUT IN IAN WRIGHTS DAY KIDS WERENT TAKEN TO ACADAMIES AT 6 AND CLUBS DIDNT GIVE TRIALS TO ANYBODY WHO COULD TIE HIS BOOTLACES LIKE NOWADAYS AND THE CHANCE OF ANOTHER IAN WRIGHT BEING DISCOVERED AT 22 ARE MINIMAL.
I TOO HOPE THAT DAN KEEPS GIVING IT HIS ALL AND WISH HIM ALL THE BEST. CLUBS CAST THEIR NETS FAR AND WIDE NOW

Dan,

Having just been to the Emerates and seen the likes of Jack Wilshire playing at 16 ( Boy what a player ) and having indepth knowledge of the Arsenal academy with talents such as Fran, Gibbs, Lansbury, Barazite, Nordtveit, Freeman, miguel, Coquelin and many others I have no doubt left out, I can honestly say the standard of Arsenals youngsters is one of the highest in the world. If you were anywhere near to making it there then you are good enough for most teams in the Premiership. Chin up m8 you should have a bright future. Kepp trying
