There is a serious amount of bullying on this site, a lot of it directed towards the moderators for no other reasons but pure vindictiveness and jealousy. Tonight has been no exception. I was pushed immediately from the moment I joined poker tonight, by multiple players, many of whom have never even spoken to me before, but simply see the name 'MOD' and wish to start trouble. Yet tonight, I dealt with the problem in a firm and professional manner.
I have dealt with enough bullying in my time to know how to deal with it. While an attempt has been made to victimise me and my colleagues I can assure you all I am no victim. The reasons for it all are surely pathetic.
The true irony is how players can pick on me, yet they don't even know a thing about me. I am exceptional when it comes to being fair, and considerate. However, in the position I am in as a moderator I must also be fair to the site and the rules, rather than mine or anyone else's will.
Players seem to forget at times that this site does have rules, and certain behaviours are not acceptable. It's not up to the player to choose the rules, but the owner of the site and the people who have been given authority on the site.
Many players simply act out of jealously towards the mods - I have the power to ban at a simple keystroke, and it galls them that they can't do anything about that. So they like to cause trouble. They forget that I am in this position because I was chosen as a suitable candidate and I have remained in this position because I have upheld the rules of this site. I also have friends on this site who can vouch for my decent nature and friendliness towards players.
A warning now to people who like to cause trouble here - You will not get away with this around me. The rules will be upheld firmer than ever. I will take no crap from any player. I have been given the power to stop chat, muzzle or ban players, and I will use those powers when necessary. I will be swift and just in doing so, and no-one will be exempt from the rules.
I have been given a responsibility here that I intend to see through, more than ever right now. No bully, or trouble-maker will intimidate me. I suggest players use the site for what it's really for, playing a good game of poker and making some new friends. Those who wish to disrespect this site, the owner, the moderators or other players, will be dealt with accordingly, have no fear of that.
I suggest all players re-read the rules and remind themselves of them. They are there for a reason, and they will be upheld more than ever.
