MOD name "Boozy" came to the table and ask me to leave or change my nic. The question is How could a MOD name "Boozy" ask Shaqi to change his name because she/he said it was offensive? plz let me know. BY the way my first time at site and I had up to 285K first time.

As Mods we deemed the name "shagiShagU2" as offensive. As you can appreciate there are rules against account names which can be deemed offensive. You might not find it offensive but others might, we have passed this onto Emil(admin) to make the final decision. You will be notified in due course regarding your name. Thank you

Shouldn't this sort of action (sending something on to Emil) be initiated only when someone complains about a name. or when a name is clearly offensive and outside the rules? ShagiShagU2 might be risque, but no one has complained have they?

In this case, the reference is kind of street and kind of sexual...but doesn't victimize anyone, it is unlikely to offend. The point was made at the tables, that actually a name referring to booze could be offensive to those against alcohol use.

I hope we can be liberal with allowing people to express themselves with their name choices, while restricting names that might be hurtful to others.

I don't like the "ShagU" part ... you guys might not bother about it ... but pls spare a thought for the females on this site that might just feel a little bit uncomfortable by it.

Yeah, it's not a name I would choose for that and other reasons, but I just think we should leave it to the offended to say that they would like it removed. Most things I'm mildly offend by I just ignore.

I understand your point Bents, but, if you took a poll, most would object; but very few would make a request that the name was removed. Where does it stop otherwise?

I saw a username "Iwantto69Uhard" - his feet didn't touch the ground ... now really, how different are the 2 names?

I was at the table when shagi(etc) was told that he would have to change his name or be banned...I wish they had just contacted him privately and request that he alter it.

Although I think his name shows some wit and doesn't, to me, have the harsh tone of the 60 example, I would ask shagi, that you voluntarily shorten it to what you are using in here. Then it wouldn't be censorship, but just a gesture of harmony.

Hopefully your chips can be transferred to your new name by the admin..

I happened to sit at a table that shagi was sat at last night - and was immediately accosted by a couple of regulars who'll go unnamed (for now) who accused me of being this shagi character, in the sense that he was playing two or more av's at the table. They were rude, wouldn't listen, charged me with being a liar ... and guess what? Shagi himself was very polite and amiable.

I know who i'd rather play with.
