Pretty much everyone's had one ... so I put "Our" in the title and invite everyone to add their brush with fame story. Known (or know) someone famous? Maybe some moment that just stuck in the memory where you crossed paths with a celebrity? Go ahead and tell your story.

I'm a trekkie, so this could get kinda geeky ... but i'm not a Trekker, and don't usually go to the sci-fi con's or talk Vulcan or anything, but i'm a massive Voyager fan, and did a few online Star Trek RPG's. Anyways, one year I decide to go because the guest speaker is Roxanne Dawson, who plays B'ellana Torres on the show (hot half/klingon). So I get there - it's not a big convention; Adelaide's a small city ... a few Klingons and Starfleet costumes walking around - and Roxanne comes out and there's a bit of Q&A, and some guy (dressed as a Klingon) asks her if she knows any Klingon. So she says "Q'apla!" - the most commonly quoted Klingon word, meaning good luck/hello/success. Then she asks if anyone else knows any Klingon, so I put my hand up and said, "P'Tak" - the most insulting word in the Klingon language - and she gives me this withering look, eyes half closed - and drawls, "P'Tak".

I melted.

Here's a link to a few pictures of her ...

If ur a trekkie, that's a big deal. :)

I was on "Wheel of Fortune" in my mid 20's. Had a ball. Met Carol Smiley and good old Nicky Campell.....obviously as they were the hosts.

i once had a burst standing next to Johnny Mathis in the toilets at the Mere Park Golf Club. He didnt say anything but it was a magic moment as our "urine streams" definitely merged.

PS...yes i did have a peek and let me tell you, his "superstar status" has nothing to do with his equipment in the trouser department.

I have always been a football nut (soccer to some of you).
Back in the 70s I went with my mate to Barrow to see where he used to live. We called at a mate's house. It was only Emlyn fkn Hughes!!!!!!
He greeted us at the door in his jeans and vest and made us a cup of tea. We had a natter then he lent his brother, Gareth, his Ford escort RS world cup car so we could go 10 pin bowling. Seemed a really nice bloke.
Don't know if Liverpool and England legends count or not but it certainly made a big impression on this young egg.

Less importantly the then prime minister, Harold Wilson, visited our school and came into our arts class. I was doing an abstract to illustrate pain. He made some derogatory comment about it and I called him a t**t under my breath.

Ok I thought I would add my claims to fame, not let me think where would you like me to start .....

I used to work for the Vauxhall touring car team & met the whole team including Jason Plato, Derek Warrick & John Clelland....I also used to work at the Network Q Rallies & met most of the drivers & teams......I have also met David Coulthard & Nigel Mansell......& also met most of the British & World Superbike riders.
And for those of you old enough to remember...... I used to live near Rachael Garley Former page 3 model.

never heard of anyone in that long list of yours - Can't see any Huddersfield Town players listed - now that would be impressive lol.

OK I bought Gorden Kaye's house. He played Rene in 'allo 'allo. Also had lunch with Dame Thora Hird in Johnny's, Huddersfield and went out on the lash up canal street in Manchester with Liz Dawn (Vera Duckworth of Coronation St.) and her husband, Don - a really nice bloke.
Emlyn was still the one who made the most impression on me as a frustrated footballer.

Hmmm,
OK,

The Queen, (obvious)
Harvey Smith, (Horse rider)
Nearly got run over by Mark Phillips (rude gesture on my part). (Princess Annes x hubby)
Alan Titchmarsh (does he count)?
Chris Bonnington (Climber) this was quite amusing actually, it was years ago in the pub, he was a mate of a mate and we were all sat round a table telling stories. Chris obviously had some great stories and one of our friends who arived a little later than the rest of us thought his stories a little over the top and not knowing who he was made the classic statement "who the **** do you think you are, Chris Bonnington" to which Chris replied yes and we all fell off our stools with laughter.

Roger Federer's dopplegang who was sitting in a restaurant in a ski resort with a broken leg and then went on to the Federer/Nadal final at wimbledon so it quite clearly wasn't Roger!!! But it caused us great amusement at the time.
