A note for willy...
I see that you have deleted stuff from the forum as per your thread "deleted posts". I can accept the need for you to delete posts which have breached site rules and/or have gone beyond general decency, but why would you delete entire threads?
Do you not think that you are now encroaching on the "free speech" aspect that open forums have to offer?

I tend to agree with Tony here Wonka. Nobody doubts the need for moderation within these pages but to delete entire threads seems somewhat draconian.
To go a step further and ban comments or replies to your thread is dictatorial and to be honest a little patronising to the educated adult people who contribute to these pages.

Hi guys. I think Willy was right to lock his thread about deleted posts, If he didn't he would just be inviting more nasty posts from members with a chip on their shoulder.
About the thread deletions.... well I suppose I can agree to some extent. Although the threads posted were totally inappropriate, such as 'why I h8 people so much on the site' (or whatever it was called). Really, why would anyone consider that to be appropriate?
If threads like that are written in a less aggressive and antagonistic manner, then there would be no need to remove them. Same goes for individual posts. Like any sites, this one must be moderated. It does not encroach on members' right to free speech. Members can say what they wish and state their views on the conditions that 1) they don't swear or use inappropriate language and 2) they do so in a civil and non-threatening manner.
If members continue to post threads without following those very simple guidelines then I'm sure Wonka will continue to remove them, and I support him in that.
Remember first and foremost.... This is a poker site. Not a courtroom, not a school playground. The forum is there for members to discuss issues of the site, to sort out any complaints, to submit new ideas to improve the site, and also for the players to get to know each other and have the occasional laugh together.
So let's keep the focus on what this site is really about, POKER. It's not for sorting out people's personal disagreements. There's always MSN for that :o)

ynot12 and gegs12 as you know i do not usually reply to this type of post but i feel that some1 should speak up for WW.
Yes there is a duty to free speech but that duty extends both ways in that the people wanting the free speech MUST ensure that
(1) The subject is not offensive
(2) The language is not offensive
(3) None of it is Libalous
By offensive I do not just mean swearing and such but anything for example you could say
"MOD_johnnyB is a fat lazy slob who never gets things right and bans on the slightest of reasons"
The above while not swearing would be offensive and libalous.
(at least some of it is)
WW has a difficult job to do in that he can never please every1 and he has no helper to share the load I personally think he is doing a good job more importantly complaints abut subjects psted have gone down and WW under instructions from teh owner is responsible fro that.
I feel that you 2 in particular should understand that and appreciate the good job that WW is doing the lack of such in the two of you disappoints me.

But what has that got to do with my questions above?
I am sure that willy is quite capable of speaking for himself and look forward to him doing so.

I seen some of the 'nasty' threads that were put on last night & believe wonka had every right to delete them, people do not need to see that kind of slander towards fellow players whether they are mods or not.
My shop post was also deleted, I do not know the reason behind this but i feel that if wonka had to delete it i respect his decisions for it. I will not hold any grudges against him (i'll just rob him of his chips lol)
He has a difficult job to do on this forum, I for one could not do what he does.
