To be kind to others costs nothing, and yet in the course of a day so many unkind words and gestures are exchanged wherever there are groups of people together. We should think before we act or speak, then perhaps we can replace the intended action or words with a little kindness. It could completely change the atmosphere where you work, rest or play.

And remember .. If you must have an argument, don't raise your voice. After all if you're right you don't need to and on the off chance you're wrong, then you can't afford to

Today when Mr. H. came by my work, I didn't talk to him at first. He's in his 80s and lonely, having survived a wife and a girlfriend. I usually make it a point to talk to him and to put my hand on his arm (which he then covers with his), but he takes a lot of my time every time I do.
I waited until I saw that he was ready to leave, before I went over to hug him and ask him about his weekend. After he told me he'd had a hard time, he pointed a finger at me and simply said "You...make me feel good".

Guess the moral of my story is: hug an old man today ;)

You have twins? It's very much like having alien children who live in their own secret realm (or so my mother always proclaimed=)
