Why is it that every single Forum that has ever existed - this one included - is slowly but surely monopolized by nauseating adolescent melodrama passing itself off as worthy opinion.
Who gives a shit about 'who your best friends are', or 'should I stand for CM?', or 'Who are the site's happy people?' What sort of vacuous non-entity would seriously write or reply to such a thread?
I don't need to name names - one look at the Forum thread list says it all.
You want to be told how great you are? Then go and fight fires for a living.
You want to be liked? Then get a backbone and you'd find out that you couldn't care less.
Say something funny, say something controversial. God forbid, even say something rude. What happened to good old fashioned banter (including a little piss-taking)? Are we all so politically correct that fear of upsetting people's somewhat fragile sensibilities has eradicated any semblance of humour from conversation?
Just don't tell me what your favourite colour is. Don't waste my time.
Like so many others before it, this site (and its Forum) offered the user the perfect chance to enhance his/her free time. Instead it's become nothing more than an outlet for inane drivel.
I think i'll go back to watching telly and beating the wife on an evening.

Once again baldy, I'm with you.
But I just quit giving a damn. People love show off and mediocrity. Soap-operas and gossip. They can chat all the way about it. I won't waste my time.
Very nice of you stepping out and sharing your thoughts. It seems that they're some interesting people out there.
And thanks for making an 'effort' on spelling. Sometimes I just can't figure out some posts of our beloved mates.
Now, back to circus.

No Baldyman and all us oldies should be exterminated or banned immediatley. We cannot keep up. We are not down with the kids. Our pipe smoke is staining the ceiling and we are just not the right image for this place. I vote for more little kids to be immediatley appointed as CM's. Please feel free to kick away our zimmer frames from under us and chewing gum is now allowed to be stuck on the underside of the table. And 1 more thing fiizy drimks and caffeine substiutes will now be allowed after 9pm. Please also remember mindless villence towards the poker rooms is allowed as long as youve taken your shoes off.

Baldyman, I agree that there has been a bit too much whining that didn't belong in the open part of the forum but should have been in the complaints and appeals thread.
I too would welcome a larger number of interesting topics in the forum, but asking about favorite colors is rather harmless after all :-)

Harsh, but fair, Marthaw.
Imagine my embarrassment when I realised my folly. What on earth was I thinking with my pathetically hysterical attempt to steer the forum towards the heady heights of mediocrity? Oh the irony.
And just as I have seemingly missed the point of the forum I feel that far from shooting myself in the foot the gun would backfire on me and blow my bloody head off.
Apathetic acceptance is the only way forward. I see that now.
