Right Said Fred are an English pop band, formed in 1989 by brothers Richard Fairbrass and Fred Fairbrass, later joined by their friend Rob Manzoli, all from East Grinstead. The group is named after a song of the same name which was a hit for Bernard Cribbins in 1962.

Daryl Hall and John Oates (often shortened to Hall & Oates) are an American pop music duo who achieved their greatest fame in the late 1970s and early to mid-1980s. Both sing and are multi-instrumentalists. They specialized in a fusion of rock and roll and rhythm and blues styles, which they dubbed "rock and soul." Critics Stephen Thomas Erlewine and J. The Darkness are an English hard rock band that formed in Lowestoft, Suffolk in 2000. Originally comprising lead vocalist, guitarist and pianist Justin Hawkins, his guitarist and backing vocalist brother Dan Hawkins, bassist Frankie Poullain and drummer Ed Graham, the band released the UK number-one album Permission to Land in July 2003 before Poullain was replaced by Richie Edwards and the band released One Way Ticket to Hell... and Back in November 2005, which reached number 11 in the chart.

Wings (band)

Wings (sometimes credited as Paul McCartney and Wings) were a rock group formed in 1971 by ex-Beatle Paul McCartney that remained active until 1981.

Wings had 12 top-10 singles (including one #1) in the United Kingdom and 14 top-10 singles (including six #1's) in the United States. All 23 singles credited to Wings reached the US Top 40, and one double-sided single, "Junior's Farm"/"Sally G", reached the Top 40 with each side. Alicia Augello Cook (born January 25, 1981), better known by her stage name Alicia Keys, is an American recording artist, musician and actress. She was raised by a single mother in the Hell's Kitchen area of Manhattan in New York City. At age seven, Keys began to play classical music on the piano. Kelly Brianne Clarkson (born April 24, 1982) is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Clarkson made her debut under RCA Records after she won the first season of the television series American Idol in 2002.

American Idol

American Idol is a reality television competition to find new solo singing talent. Part of the Idol franchise, it was created by Simon Fuller as a spin-off from the British show Pop Idol. Debuting on June 11, 2002, as American Idol: The Search for a Superstar on the Fox network, the show has since become one of the most popular in the history of American television. Nina Simone

Eunice Kathleen Waymon (February 21, 1933 – April 21, 2003), better known by her stage name Nina Simone (/ˈniːnə sɨˈmoʊn/), was an American singer, songwriter, pianist, arranger, and civil rights activist. Although she disliked being categorized, Simone is most associated with jazz music. Simone originally aspired to become a classical pianist, but her work covers an eclectic variety of musical styles that include classical, jazz, blues, soul, folk, R&B, gospel, and pop. Her vocal style is characterized by intense passion, a loose vibrato, and a slightly androgynous timbre, in part due to her unusually low vocal range which veered between the alto and tenor ranges (occasionally even reaching baritone lows). Also known as The High Priestess of Soul, she paid great attention to the musical expression of emotions. Within one album or concert she could fluctuate between exuberant happiness and tragic melancholy. These fluctuations also characterized her own personality and personal life, amplified by bipolar disorder with which she was diagnosed in the mid-1960s, something not revealed until after her death in 2003 According to Nadine Cohodas, Simone's biographer, Ms. Simone was first diagnosed with multiple personality disorder and later with schizophrenia.

Simone recorded over 40 live and studio albums, the greatest body of her work released between 1958 (when she made her debut with Little Girl Blue) and 1974. Her most well known songs include "My Baby Just Cares for Me", "I Put a Spell on You", "Four Women", "I Loves You Porgy", "Feeling Good", "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood", "Sinnerman", "To Be Young, Gifted and Black", "Mississippi Goddam", "Ain't Got No, I Got Life," "I Want a Little Sugar in My Bowl", and "Love Me or Leave Me".

Her music and message made a strong and lasting impact on culture, illustrated by the numerous contemporary artists who cite her as an important influence (see Legacy and influence). Several hip hop musicians and other modern artists sample and remix Simone's rhythms and beats on their tracks. In particular, Talib Kweli and Mos Def routinely pay tribute to her outstanding and soulful musical style. Many of her songs are featured on motion picture soundtracks, as well as in video games, commercials, and TV series.

KC and the Sunshine Band is an American musical group. Founded in 1973 in Miami, Florida, their style has included funk, R&B, and disco. Crowded House

Crowded House is a rock group formed in 1985 in Melbourne, Australia and led by New Zealand singer-songwriter Neil Finn. Finn is widely recognised as the primary songwriter and creative director of the band, having led it through several incarnations, drawing members from New Zealand (his brother, Tim Finn and Eddie Rayner), Australia (Paul Hester, Nick Seymour, Peter Jones and Craig Hooper) and the United States (Mark Hart, and Matt Sherrod).

The band owes its original success to the Australian live music scene, though references to New Zealand people and places are included in several of their songs. ("Kare Kare" is written about Karekare Beach, "Mean to Me" mentions Finn's hometown of Te Awamutu). Queen Elizabeth II bestowed the Order of the British Empire on both Tim and Neil Finn, in June 1993, for their contribution to the music of New Zealand.

Originally active during 1985–1996, the band has had consistent commercial and critical success in Australia and New Zealand; and international chart success in two phases. Their self titled first album, Crowded House, peaked at number twelve on the US Billboard 200 in 1987 and provided the Top Ten hits, "Don't Dream It's Over" and "Something So Strong".The second phase of international success was experienced in the UK and Europe with their third and fourth albums, Woodface and Together Alone and compilation album, Recurring Dream which included the hits "Fall at Your Feet", "Weather with You", "Distant Sun", "Locked Out", "Instinct" and "Not the Girl You Think You Are".

Founding drummer Hester left in May 1994, citing family reasons, but briefly returned for their 1996 final concerts in Melbourne and Sydney (Australia). Neil Finn had decided to concentrate on his solo career, and with Tim in Finn Brothers.On 26 March 2005, with a previous history of depression, Hester hanged himself from a tree in a park near his home, aged 46. In 2006, the group reunited with a new drummer, Sherrod; and released a new album, Time on Earth on 29 June, which reached number one on Australia's ARIA Album Charts.

Jon Hart from Boy & Bear let slip om Radar Radio that a Crowded House covers album will be released in late 2010 called "He Will Have His Way". It is to be the male version of the 1998 tribute album of Finn Brothers songs, She Will Have Her Way.

Roxette

Roxette is a Swedish pop music duo, consisting of Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle. They enjoyed worldwide success from the late 1980s until the mid-1990s, gaining nineteen UK Top 40 hits and four US #1 singles with, "The Look", "Listen to Your Heart", "It Must Have Been Love" and "Joyride". Two further singles "Dangerous" and "Fading Like a Flower" hit #2.
