It's the ultimate in hypocrisy to kill someone as a punishment for committing murder. It's like hitting your child to teach them that violence is wrong. go figure.

Sorry but I can't see how your kid hitting another kid is the same as a man raping and murdering a child.

And anyhow if you grounded your kid would he never hit another kid?

geez blade...it was just a simple analogy to highlight hypocrisy...

Ethics and the philosophy therein...were first written about by dead Greek dudes, far older than the Bible.

Ethics and morals are not merely only applied for those whom are Christian.

From what I've been reading over the last few hours GOD says we should have capital punishment

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodom_and_Gomorrah

Let's sum up: god wants to destroy the sinful cities
The angels make a bargain with god:
if they find enough righteous men, then the cities will be spared...
After bargaining again and again about the number,
they finally find ONE family with Lot's and become his guests.

The inhabitants want to rape the angel guests, but Lot refuses to give them
to the populace, and propose to give his two virgin daughters in exchange,
with these fantastic words: "do to them whatever you like"...

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Gen%2019:8;&version=NASB;

That must be seen as super high moral standard for god,
because Lot is rewarded by being allowed to escape with his family
while god is busy to destroy the cities...

With a little trick... Lot's wife will be killed by god
by being transformed in a pillar of salt, just for looking back...

The 2 facts in boldface above:
That's the moral standard you want to follow
to establish the base of State Laws ?

"The Code of Hammurabi (39 KB) , a legal document from ancient Babylonia (in modern-day Iraq), contained the first known death penalty laws. Under the code, written in the 1700s B.C., twenty-five crimes were punishable by death. These crimes included adultery (cheating on a wife or husband) and helping slaves escape. Murder was not one of the twenty-five crimes."

bat lets make one thing clear, you have sole responsibility for your stats being unstuck when you, yes you, decided to use them as leverage.

I once said that the stats would be gone if blackjack was not fixed
as these stats are meant to be Poker stats.
That's the only case you could ever qualify as leverage,
though it's not: it's just that the tool would not measure what it was designed to measure and then would become pointless.

It was fixed and the stats continued.

You will find no post anywhere where I say that the stats would be gone
or would return if some other condition happened or failed to happen.

not the issue bat,

It is.
You seem to have a problem with facts.
It seems you are comfy to say plain lies
and then, when caught, it's just not the issue...

And a huge amount of time, work and energy created...for absolutely free.

I'm not sure we should ever be mad at somebody whom did something simply out of the kindness of their heart -if it ever ceases to exist from our reality.

Now let's get on topic, shall we?...lol.

Cmon jamier, everyone was having an discussion on capital punishment and you mention that his stats were invalid when he compared them to your comment on suicide which did not add up to the stats. Stats on this topic is valid because stats they show human behavior when there are certain factors involved. No one likes seeing their opinion ingored or demeaned, his stats in this case is part of his thought.

You're confused.
You mix two things completely different.

--There's a project I started alone about history of Leaderboard of graph plots.
It started In July 2009 and just require a program to wake up once a time everyday at midnight.

--And there's a project I wrote on Finn's impulse: the tourney stats,
which requires a program to run 24/24 7/7 to spy the tables.
This one started only in November 2009.

After 5 months or tourney stats,
there was a double split between him and me,
the first being this open letter: http://www.thefreepokerroom.com/forum/4_4493_21.html#msg169672
and the second was the ModGate,

The result was the unconditional(*) end of tourney stats
(and 2 Mods stepping down for the second point)

(*) The precise opposite of leverage.

I'm just stating my opinion about that...which anybody has the right to do.
What I'm confused about is why the topic of The Batstats is broached within this thread.

One has nothing to do with the other -at all.

Stats on this topic is valid

Ah, but it's not the issue!
Because it contradicts Jamier's claim according to which
Norway has highest suicide rate on Planet.

The wikipedia data might be false, inacurate or outdated...
But no, each time, it's not the point when a claim is contradicted by a source.

Daniella:
What I'm confused about is why the topic of The Batstats is broached within this thread.

Because each time I have an opinion about something,
someone will either say "You better stick with your stats"
or, here, "FFS bat there is times when your stats dont matter".
In any case, they are both means to reduce the relevance of my opinion
to the domain of stats, i.e. , outside of this, my opinion would be worthless.

Therefore, because I've done the stats, people have an eristic tool
to forbid me any public opinion.

getting nowhere now fools involved, lol hes on your side bat, says more about you than me.

Bad draw.
The arguments developed by foolme in this thread are quite clever.

Wot you are doing here has a name: guilt by association,
a fallacious argument which finds its extreme form in Reductio ad Hitlerum.

I wish this didn't turn into sides.
Whose side is on whose?

All opinion, all mere data...and I should hope it doesn't make somebody's blood boil to read another person's opinion on such a matter.

I understand your point blade, but sometimes you have to put aside religion and come up with your opinion and your own morals.

I agree so much! Do you really need your God to tell you right from wrong or don't you know it for it yourself?

I can't believe anyone is bringing the bible into this discussion. That is exactly what is wrong with the world.

Faith is a disease not a virtue.

I don't need a 2,000 year old book to tell me what is right or wrong. Religion is a curse on our modern world, and needs to be eradicated as fast as possible.

The same 'Holy Bible' quoted here approves of child-murder, slavery, persecution of women... the list goes on.

Why the f**k was the Bible even quoted here at all? This is not the 14th Century, it's 2010, wake up.
