Hey all, I was so frustrated with not being able to chat I explored my whole computer to set it right!! N in the end... it was, as it ought to be, a simple solution. Just follow these steps people n you wont have to do system restore n lose latest valuable updates, if any-

1. Go to Control Panel; Select "ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS".
2. There you will see the latest Adobe Flash Player (V 10.1) which you would've installed (the one causing all this trouble!); Close all Internet browsers, and then select remove to uninstall the software.
3. After uninstalling the software, go to this link- http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html
4. Download "Flash Player 9.0.280 and higher (21.8 MB)" from the list given and install it.
5. Come back to thefreepokerroom.com enjoy playing & chatting as before!

CHEERS ! :)

Yeah i did the above the other day, works fine now.

But, If anyone is using Google chrome, it doesn't work as chrome automatically updates flash player its self which is stupid..

You can see the flash version and revision you're using at this page:
http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

If you see in the rectangle "Version Information" the line:
"You have version 10,1,82,76"
which is the latest revision of version 10.1 of Flash Player,
then you will experience the issue of the scrollbar going back to top.

This problem is not related to windows or Explorer
as I run a Linux Fedora 12 firefox and version 10.1 revision r82.76
exhibits this problem too on this plateform.

No need to go back to Flash 9 or even Flash 10.0 to fix the issue.
Reverting to the older revision r53.64 of Version 10.1 will solve the problem.

The older versions/revision are archived here:
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html
Download archive of Flash Player 10.1, unzip it.
It contains all revisions of version 10.1 for multiple plateforms.

Select the version/revision 10_1r53_64 for your plateform.
For Windows users, this should be the directories and file:
fp10.1_archive/10_1r53_64/flashplayer10_1r53_64_win.exe
Install it, restart your browser.

Check again the new version is installed at the page:
http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
You should see:
"You have version 10,1,53,64"

Scrollbar of chatbox should work normally with this revision.

After following the instructions for uninstalling r82.76 and installing r53.64 the adobe site for checking the version number tells me oting is installed and asks me to install flash player.
control panel says r 53.64 is there.
I have restarted several times in between.
The poker table does not work.
Accepting the install from the Adobe flash player site gets me r82.76 again.

Do I make a mistake or does the procedure not work for Windows 7?

Thanks,
JayJayC

I'm having the same problem as JayJay : ( I can uninstall 10.1 no problem. Then I reboot my computer and try to instal version 10 or version 9 and it seems to instal it and then some winzip crap comes up? Then when I go to the site to see what version is installed, nothing happens and it asks if I want to to a adobe add on. When I say no, nothing happens. When I say yes, it installs version 10.1??? What am I doing wrong. I swear I'm not a moron.

I really hope they just come up with a new version that allows me to chat again or Bat flies to Boston to install the correct version for me : )

WinZip is a proprietary file archiver and compressor for Microsoft Windows, developed by WinZip Computing (formerly Nico Mak Computing). It natively uses the PKZIP format but also has various levels of support for other archive formats.

WinZip has a 45-day free evaluation period, after which the program would still work even if the user had not registered, albeit with reduced functionality. However in later versions[which?] this feature appears to have been removed, although users are able to bypass this by downloading an earlier version

It asks me to download winzip every time I try to download flash? Should I download it?

I'll try filehippo next ynot : )

Yes, because the file you download is a compressed archive
(it contains folders containing various installers for all revisions and plateforms of 10.1)
and it need to be uncompressed (by a tool like winzip)...

Otherwise, try this:
http://regis.barbanchon.free.fr/tfpr/flash/flashplayer10_1r53_64_win.exe
