AK on a flop of A59 or AA on a flop of kq2??
If 2 people go all in before you and thier are 4 people left in a sit and go tournament
while you are currently in third place so if you lose this hand your knocked out and the top 3 places are payed

If the AK are say hearts and the flop is 2 hearts... then you cant lay that hand down surely.
I don't think I could lay either down lol.

would depend on opponents and their stacks.. if only 4 left you will have seen their play for a while at final table.. also depends on suits on flop.... play the player not the hand if you've watched them play for a while.. but if its a case that one will go out and they are both allin before me I would fold unless completely short stacked.. at least you cash then and wont feel a complete pillock if the wrong fold....

Any hand can hit, one of the allins could have flopped a set -and it's not worth the chips, if you can go ahead to place. I'd rather place short stacked, then to miss with AA...and feel on tilt for an hour...lol.

Logically though, you should go allin pre-flop with AA (or AK) -if you are in 3rd...before anybody even sees the flop.

Nobody wants to be 4th...so it's easy to make people lay stuff down in that stage, so use that chip equity...while you have it.

i agree with dani...both are lay-downable, rather than missing the money placing. I suppose if a gun was held to my head the AA would go 1st.

If I was going to go all in and the choices were AA or AK then I would choose AK only because I would have the extra cards to try and hit with. (don't forget, I am NOT on the leader board) lol

The battle for the blinds

Limit poker game, not only begins with the struggle for the blinds, it usually it ends there.
In loose games, importance is the selection of starting hands, betting strategies and management chips,
but in a tight and aggressive games, the whole point of conflict is reduced to a struggle for the foreseeable share your blinds.
Compared with other aspects of the game, the blinds devoted quite a bit of poker literature - I think that
for the most part, this is so because much depends on the situation, and besides - it is very difficult aspect of poker.

One can argue about the value of pocket assorted A-K in the position to the left of the dealer button in a game of Texas Hold'em at the $ 20/40 stakes.
How high (or low) value of such arms, depending on the type of game on
what you are and what the player's opponents are in the positions of the dealer and blinds (and it's not all factors).
And a raise and win $ 30 in the form of blinds will be for you an excellent result, if your opponents are not quite so weak and helpless.
Understanding this fact helps to understand how to earn income in poker, as in fact play quite deceptive.

Quite often it happens that the game is constantly appear isolated sweats, exceeding expectations of players to win for the entire session.
For example, many often winning players are configured to receive one large beta in the hour and the game for about six hours.
Sweats a six big bets (and, of course, more) are ongoing. And because of this illusion that the process is profitable poker

(As opposed to losing the game when you can easily lose a large amount), just not what it actually is.
Strong players do not win every hour one pot size at six big bets (or slightly more);
they get a decent sweat for a few hours - even if for one hour, they won and lost a lot of pots.

Thus, the main element of poker income is much smaller than the pot. And this basic element - blinds. Party,
playing a $ 20/40 limit games and receive 40 dollars per hour in a full game with nine distribution, playing about 36 hands per hour,
in Round 4. Such a player gets a bit more dollar per hand. Forget about all your favorite big pots, which are ongoing.
Large pots are very attractive, but the process of winning is to get that same dollar in each hand in which you participate.
