I have just been watching the news, I was alarmed at what i saw.
A pastor of a church in the USA with 50 members, has decided to make 11th of sept this year a ''burn the koran day''.

Now personally i couldn't give a damn what this guy or his followers do with the koran,
what's concerning me is the out cry of every politician and religious leader WORLD WIDE, even the pope has condemned his actions.
WHY.........................?
Why is there such out pouring of condemnation for this mans forth coming actions..?

Question:

Has this pastor got the right to burn the koran..?

That's not a very relevant question. I'd be more worried about a new false flag attack occuring on september 11th that'll fuel more Islamophobic hysteria.

I feel that his actions are malicious, a form of revenge becasue of the events on sept 11. I believe that hate just brings more hate out. If this was just a relgious thing which I believe everyone has the right to express they beliefs then this would be another story. This is not the case, not only is this the mocking of someone's religion but they are risking many lifes, the ultimate form of provoking.

if burning the koran results in people getting hurt or worst will the pastor sleep less at night i doubt it hes drumming up his coffers counting his silver hoping hatred will boost his ego and income

I burnt my boxers and socks once when I forgot to buy washing powder and they were rancid.. It wasnt even reported in the daily washrag, so why should a book cause any problems??..
And if it keeps his congregation warm while he preaches, that saves on fuel, which in turn helps the ozone layer....

Just a thought

''Risking many life's'', But surly this is because of the extremist that kill in the name of the koran, the pastor can not be held responsible for some one else's radical beliefs.
Should everyone walk on egg shells because of the fear of upsetting radical extremists ?

Its all about the intent, what does the pastor plan to accomplish? We should not walk on egg shells when it comes to someone's relgion or beliefs, but there has to be some kind line drawn in the sand. Where we learn how to respect people and their beliefs.

Yeah right. Turn your tv off, take a breath of fresh air and perhaps question the source of your information.

I cannot blame a whole for individuals actions. To categorize a whole relgion is just wrong. Not everyone shares the same views in the same religion.

Not everyone shares the same views in the same religion.

There are even practising muslims who repair synagogues, temples and cathedrals since 30 years.

In the city of Lyon, France, the cathedral Saint-Jean was repaired
and the sculptor carved the head of his stonemason chief Ahmed Benzinine as a gargoyle.
The message below the gargoyle reads "god is great" both in french and arabic.

What if the pastor was to burn bibles, would he have the same out pouring of condemnation from the world leaders...?

NO we would not,
yes obviously the bible bashers from the deep south wouldn't be happy but im sure the likes of good old tony blair wouldn't say anything about that one would he.

Normally I do not engage in religious or political debates, since Petraeus already broke the tradition by expressing his concerns, I'll express my 2 cents here.

CMwonka:

Legally, with the proper permit, he can burn anything he wish.
Morally, attack on the corner stone of any religion amount to attacking the foundation of humanity.
World wide out cry against Rev. Jone's view reflects just that.

Muhamad Ali wrote in Jakarta Post:
Many Muslims are expected to be tolerant of others when part of the others continues to show prejudice toward them. Being Muslim today is different from being Muslim before 9/11. There are choices to be made; To continue in goodness and wisdom, or to become reactionary and violent, perpetuating others' ignorance and prejudice that have long prevailed.

Closer to home, The Gainesville Sun:
A butterfly has no choice but to flap its wings, whatever the ripple effect and whatever the ensuing chaos. But members of Dove World do have a choice. In the name of human decency, they can choose to cancel their plan. In the name of patriotism they can choose not to endanger our troops.

Just like perfection is never absolute, extremists are never main stream.
Freedom of choice is.

nice sentiment foolme, but not all have your understanding, I think more than a few will blame the whole of america for one nutters actions, its hypocritcal and antagonistic, as a so called man of god he should hang his head in shame, innocent people will pay with their lives.

In the interest of balance: How many union jacks, stars and stripes and effigies from Salman Rushtie to Bill Clinton have we winessed burning in streets. Is this not also antagonistic and hypocritical?

Two wrongs do not make a right. Live, let live and respect others.

Obama says, ''this man is a threat to america, its is a recruitment bonanza in Afghanistan and america, this will put many life's in danger''

Interpoll says, ''terrorist threats will go up if this burning goes ahead''

Pakistan says, '' world peace will be threatened ''

dove church says ''we have hundreds of death threats so far ''

WOOOOOW all over a stupid little book.

The whole debate is schewed towards the idea that it was islamic extremists that perpetrated the events of 9/11. As someone with a brain and a pair of eyes, I haven't quite bought into that fabrication. There's very little one can do except wait for the next "terrorist attack" and watch them all blame Iran. Or if you're a moron like this wonka, watch the news and instead of wonder why so much attention has been given to this pointless story about some weird pastor guy (the reason of course being to propagate the whole us v them rift between the west and islam) continue in your small-minded delusions about what you should be feeling enmity towards.

Look Muslims consider the original Arabic verbal text to be the final revelation of God and the divine guidance and direction for mankind, i dont believe in god, i dont need direction from a book so therefore i think its stupid.
secondly i also think the bible is a stupid little book too.
