Six persons in Sweden who arranged the million-kronor poker tournament "Grebbestad Open" have been prosecuted according to Swedish gambling laws.
It was in march that the cops busted the poker tournament and now the offenders will soon face their fate. The poker tournament hosts claim their innocence and of course they are innocent until proven guilty.
Each of the participants paid €250 to join the tournament. The organizers pocketed €30, while the rest of the money went into the prize pot. A gambling company supported the tounament as well.
From The Local:
"Two of those charged work for the gaming company; another two are locally-based organizers.
Two people are being charged for renting out the room at the conference centre: Swedish law considers people who provide premises for gambling to be as culpable as those who arrange illegal tournaments."

Those six people have ruined the game of poker for what they have done. Glad there prosecuted, people like them don't deserve to play poker!

About the tournament Grebbestad open, what they did was illegal but I think it would have been an appreciated event by the players. Probably most poker players in Sweden would like these events to be legal. However it isn't legal now so it's probably as it should be if those who are prosecuted get some kind of punishment.
It is however legal to arrange poker tournaments in Sweden if there is no profit interest involved and the tournament is only open to members of a particular organisation. Open tournaments are not allowed.

Emil and Grandemaster I Think I am a good Helper and Keywest said sign for a moderater because I am a good Helper and you should be a mod so i pick (C)NEITHER I WANT TO BE A MOD TO HELP KEYWEST AND GRANDEMASTER AND ROSSI. Twilight.. Moderators are picked by the current moderators, posting here about wanting to become one doesn't increase your chances. Especially not when writing in caps. It is nice of you wanting to help though.

TWILIGHT.. As far as i am concerned, it's a no. As you were the one that hacked into my GrandeMaster account, changed my password. Threatened to ban me, and got banned three times.
So, if typing in caps, asking and everything else that you done to decrease your chances. This must make your chance a definite zero.

Twilight i said 4 u to post ur application on the fourm and it will b considered by admin, u have however no authorization to act like a moderator and people will see u as a moderator/imposter and give the true moderators a bad reputation. as if our job isnt hard enough already emil and Grandemaster consider all applications. gud luck with yours
