Not sure how we did in the end, but sorry I had to bail. The plan was to stay and then quietly go in big to transfer chips in the last few hands. Unfortunately, my WC teammate came in and announced my need to depart so any big move would look suspicious.

We do need some transfer practise. There was one tonight where euro Mental and I were in together without an opponent that we screwed up.

Howard..you've done a great job this year. We all really appreciate it.

aces thanks for tonight we managed to secure our 1st division place for next season (if my calculations are correct no other team can overtake us points wise).

Hey Folks regarding the passing etc I think we do need to do some work. there were a couple of times tonight when I had the top stack - and I didn't know should I just be calling so that an opportunity to pass arises - or best to stay out? Also - there was one occasion whre me mental and Julia were involved. Julia was all in and mental would only have had 200 odd chips left had I won. i had the best hand - think Julia beat mental with higher pair if I remember correctly - but folded before river so it was just mental v Julia. Should I have called so that Julia was out even though mental would have ben left with only 200 odd chips? there wre still 2 other timelords left at the time?

Another occasion was when player next to me (think doc smething) had only 250 odd chips left on the big blind - I had already called to 200 (big blind) and he went all in. I had j 9 suited and in an individual game I would prob just have let it go - but felt I should call as it was poss an opp to remove him from the game - should I have called?

Finally towards the end there were several times towards the end where mental earl and myself were involved with no opponets - we all just checked all the way through as give or take 200 chips we were level - should we have passed to mental (who had the most chips) so that he would be in a much stronger position to call anything v julia who was only TL left?

Anyway something to think abouut before next season - its just annoying we did so poorly in the last game that we were basically out of contention. Did I read something about a knockout cup?

i persoally would NOT have folded unless metal had raised, yes there is a chance mental would be left short but as in the csae explained he lost anyway.

there is no right or wrong answer it is purely a gut reaction based on specfic situation and player.
does this player bluff a lot
is this player in because he blinds took most of his stack

is he trying to steal blinds
how good is your hand
as i say purely instinct based on specifics.

in this situation look at opponents stack if like in julias case aound 800 to 1000 there is no advantage to stacking one player just attempt to level each over out with intention of either player bieng able to call an all in if they want to.
it is worth noting that in later stages of game blinds take a big chunk so could be advantage to fold chips to player next in line for big blind, if that makes sense.

i personally try to play this as an individual game but that also depends on position and team stacks. if a team mate was short and i had a marginal preflop hand i would be tempted to call (or even raise depending on position and amount of opponents in hand).

I think it is proper to check it down if only one opponent and stacks are even.
to speed up game first two could fold.

on the jack nine hand, I would fold most the time to a big raise. Position, timing and the play of the raiser would determine if I were to stay in. If I have 2000 and only have to call 200 and could knock out an opponent, I would probaly call.

can you all let me know wether you want to play next season with aces.

we have struggled this season to maintain a full squad which cost us a few points through the season so will need to do a little recruiting.
I intend to remove players from team list as most of you are aware there are a few who have made no contact for a while now but would appreciate your views on this matter.

I am prepared to stay on as captain (unless someone else wants a go), but there is still the vice cap position if there are any volunteers.

i have put my name down as team spokesperson.

Howard..Tia has posted the following for team opinions. My thoughts are in italics.

These are the agenda points we would like you to contemplate and reply to.

1) We could run separate, all teams in one holdem and omaha leagues; a new twist into the league again. This gives us the option to run the leagues parallel --as the plan is to play one game every two weeks. Teams participating in both leagues then have two games in two weeks. Should be doable. Also, let us know if your team wants to play one or both leagues. If only one then tell us which one.

Generally, the simpler the better by now. The whole thing is getting so complex. If is to be an Omaha element, make it a separate league made up of any team that wants to join, whether they are also a Hold' em team or not.

1.1) We could do the following: Run the season with division 1 and 2 (holdem only); if there is 2 divisions, there is a reason for all teams to play and not lose the spirit of the league till the end.
1st division : Some teams will play for the title, some will play not to be relegated in 2nd division.
2nd Division : Some will play to reach division1 and we saw this year, that there would have been 6 teams able to get there this year. Was a nice "fight".
At the end of season 2010-2011 we could have 2 winners 1 from each div or
winner of div1 and winner of div2 will play the final game for the title of 'league winner 2010-2011' ?

Promotion/Demotion. The top 2 or 3 from 2nd will be promoted and bottom 2 or 3 from 1st Div relegated . This is a way to create the two divisions only.

Also, this prevents the teams, having a bad season, not to give up half way because there is nothing to win or lose. We think this is an important point. Think well about your choices. Also, there will be a separate omaha league set up with same structure.

Don't like it..too complex. Year one was fine...or add an elimination play-off round so that making the play-offs is a goal and winning them a possibility.

2) As far as rules and appeals are concerned: we best make it a one player/team committee. Again, each team nominates the representative ( does not have to be the captain). Tia will have a tie breaker vote if need arises. Other suggestions to improve the general rules should be communicated now as well.

Fine, but confidentiality might be a real problem. Is there an appeal process? A smaller elected league committee might handle ties or sensative cases. A MOD or administration rep. should be on it too.

3) We would like to hear your ideas regarding the scoring format. There are three options that would be possible. 1) as it has been, 2) as the WC has used (5 extra points for winning team) and 3) winning team scores 3 points, losing team gets 0 points (total team points are used to separate teams ending with same amount of points)

Whatever is chosen, we should eliminate anything that rewards individualistic play (eg. tourney for 'best' player based on points fails to reward players who make team plays and sacrifices). Everything else on the site is about individual play. I think I like the status quo on this one.

If the teams have other suggestions, please do add them to your comments. In principle, we will have one round of suggestions. Please take your time in discussing the teams wishes and consider carefully the points you make, we might have to live by them the coming season.

We would like to emphasize that your input is advisory. We do our best to accommodate your wishes and ideas, but in the end Tia and the working group helping her will have to make the decision. Our hope is that this way we all feel that we are part of the process to make the new season as good as we can.

Please, do submit your teams replies by the 10th of June 2010. That will give us time to incorporate your input for the new season.

do we really need 2 divisions if omaha is run as a seperate league then we could depending on number of teams play everyone. also if top 2 from 2nd division can play for title surely that would be unfair to division 1 teams struggling to maintain a good position.

i like the idea of a commitee consisting of a member from each team (when your team is involved you step away from the vote) i can see the confidentiality issues but on this forum nothing ever stays confidential anyway, and at least it would stop the rumuor mills working overtime.

as far as the scoring goes leave it alone (if its not broke dont fix it) and i agree with bento no individual tourneys its a team league.
