Now you lot don't get soft on me! I thank you for your comments. Its one of the reasons we keep going and makes the sh''t smell a little rosier.

130xxx : Anything is feasible with right organisation and communication. We can discuss it near end of league so keep it in mind and we will have a chat m8.

Different nics ...

Absolutely no way.... League organisation is hard enough for ho and crew.

We shoud be trying to make it easier not harder.

The above post from Inca says it all.

Thanks...

The Kilted One xxx.

Inca..what a lovely note you wrote, thank you.

Must disagree with one thing, though...

Not everything is going according to plan. There must be some fatal flaw in the league structure that has caused the clearly superior Aces to perform more like Deuces so far. It may be a software issue or perhaps some sort of MI5 conspiracy.

I'm sure all players will agree, anything less than a number one finish for the Aces should result in an inquisition.

Match last night between Time Lords and MAD1s. 3 warnings were issued on true "tells" and one of these had no benefit to any team. However an individual warning on "Tells" is also a team warning and we have a penalty.

After an initial warning to macdaddy a second was placed on mrsb1 (both MAD1s) and results in a one point deduction from mrsb1 and that point added to Time Lords total. I know you may not be happy guys, but if I allow any rule to go unchallenged, it will ruin the fairness and structure of the rules.

Drwho has asked me not to penalise the MAD1s and he should be applauded, however I have no choice and I am sure you will understand I do it to be consistent in keeping the league as a fair place for all.

Captains, explain to your new players the rules or get them to read before playing thanks.

Hovis .... no problem m8.

Myself and my team understand you must have continuity across the board. Especially with a project of this size.

My team now know the rules and will learn from this.

My thanks to woosh who refereed the game fair and square, without fault.

Thanks again.

Hi Hovis.

I dont mean to continue on about this but last night in league game the following happended:

I folded for Bollo. He won the hand i then said i had a flush. He asked what card as i presume he also had a flush. I then said king to which i was given warning.

Since i have been playing on this site in league or normal people always state the cards they had after hand has finished. sometimes people have asked me and ive told them. I understand why you cant do this during a hand as u can work out the probability of what hands are remaining and bet accordingly, but after the hand i cant understand. Especially as it is done by everyone after the hand.

If you could enlighten me on this it would be highly appreciated.

Sorry to add extra work i know yuo have done a great job organise and maintaiining the league which is a very hard thing to do. Props to you for that.

mcd, sorry to butt in. it once happend to me. i said what cards i had after the hand had finished, but the next hand had started. i was warned, i think they thought i was telling others what cards i had in the next hand and not the previous hand. if you get what i mean lol

macdaddy2234 I have had a meeting with the referees and we feel after looking at all the facts, that the penalty I awarded was harsh. We will award mrsb1 the point deducted back and adjust team scores. I would like to thank drwho for his acceptance of the change.

FUTURE PENALTY DECISIONS: On reflection, we will save chat on any issue, however slight and review it after game. Any penalty decision will be awarded after a referees meeting and a copy will be kept for appeals.

MUZZLES: We have clashes of personalities which are hard to control, It disrupts our small team and can ruin a game. The referees will operate outside of site rules for league matches and will muzzle individuals (duration of game only), for any remarks that are not seen fit for the games goodwill.

The moderator team have discussed the buy in on league table. It has been reduced to 3k, this will allow those not as well endowed as myself (chips) to be able to play in the league.

I have noted various members wanting matches v countries, leader board,Guys v Girls, Omaha league etc. I suppose I should communicate more, but league is my main priority. Ok here's my plan.

When League finishes in July we will not start next one until October. This will allow all to have their summer holidays.

In this period I/we will organise various tournaments as one offs, for instance MMxx's idea of leader board tourney. I will open a thread near time to get your wishes or ideas.

Next season I may split the league into 2 Divisions (your thoughts), this will enable us to play twice against each team 1 x Holdem and 1 x Omaha. We will have promotion and relegation. Now this is only a thought, so don't get upset or excited. I need input from you, but later on.

It is great to see camaraderie evolving, this is that feeling of protection for ones team and the players in it.

I would like to say, we have settled down now. Captains on the main are communicating, players are behaving and I am surprised how easier its becoming, from the early "hell" days. So a big thanks to you all :)

Will update later on to keep you all informed.

has any thought been given to awarding the winning team (that the last person at the table represents) extra points for actually winning the game. as it stands the losing team can get more points from a match than the winning one. obviously not for this round but maybe in october???

Yes ynot good Question. When I devised the points share out it was based on teams not individual. If I awarded higher points for the winner then it devalues team effort or play. Hope you understand my reasoning m8.

Hi Hovis.....

THANKS for the discounted buy-in on the league table. That will help in stretching my chippies (as I am one of the lesser endowed) to allow for more practice friendlies along with tourney matches.

You and The Mod Team Rock!!

:)

Hovis:
you misunderstand sir, I meant for the team to get "bonus" points as one of it's members finished 1st.
So in the following "real" example the pokertiers would get extra points because seph actually won the match for his team. I suppose the points would go in the extras column like in cricket and not to the batsmans credit..lol
I dont think the losing team should be able to get "twice" as many points than the actual winners.

Match: POT HEADS vs. POKERTIERS, 6th round

1. TP seph
2. PH Petie
3. PH suzan
4. PH canaboids
5. PH nightwriter
6. PH slowtornado
7. TP gaz2002
8. TP FatalClub
9. TP chronicclover
10. TP no player

Result: Pot Heads 26, Pokertiers 13

Haaa. Let me put it another way. Australia wins the cricket match (as usual) but England had the highest scoring batsman. Who wins? The team or the highest scorer?

Yeah...PH vs. Poks game sure raises some questions, but the placement point system fosters the unique team play that wouldn't happen otherwise.

For next season, a first-place-finish team bonus seems like a good idea...say 5 or 10 points. It would alter strategy slightly...some teams might opt, as a match develops along a certain line, to build up one player to make a run for number one. This would still be a form of team work.

Bento "my little tickling spot on the back of my neck i cant reach" I am listening. I always listen. You may have a good point. We will leave it up to the members after this seasons finished.

For now I will rule with an iron little finger, we need discipline and a strong voice for all.

So many years I've pondered the big questions: Why am I here? What is meaningful? Why do women talk to my lower realm instead of my face?...

But now, finally, one of the really big ones, the 'What is my special purpose?', is answered: I am the little tickling spot on the back of Hovis' neck.

And hovis, your benevolent iron rule is welcomed, even if you occasionally use the middle finger.

I don't believe the pot heads were the "losing team". Other than first place, the pot heads took all top positions (as you can see by the listing above). Why shouldn't we get more points and win the game? Or will it be solely based on a one player finish instead of a team finish? Individual tourney tables are for individual play, league is for team play, yes?

As it stands, the top two positions get more points than others. Works well, I think.

As for a bonus for first place -- I think the chip win covers that.
