how do you know who is the final 5 if its 2 tables?
you could know 4 or 6 but not 5

Very picky, ok lets do it like this. We have 14 players, thats too many for a final table (max 10). So split into 7 players at two tables and top 5 from each table make up a final table of 10.

GP Ref: TFPR ask your captain, I am sure he can explain better than my patience threshold :) NO I will explain. As its a team game lasting 2 hrs minimum and its not possible to get all 5 on a given date, I have spread each round over a weeks period. Captains organise matches as they would a league match.

Hovis you didn't understand my question:
I'm asking, how do you know who is the 5th final player if you gonna play 2 tables with 7 each?? who is gonna be the 5th?)

(when both tables have 3 left, that's 6
when both tables have 2 left, that's 4
but who is the diciding 5th?).

GP....

top 5 from each table make up a final table of 10.

so the first 2 out of chippies on each table don't get to go on

@catweazle: the winning team of The Dealers naturally get the first round bye :-)

By the way, I won't be online for most of next month. So I'm going to ask my team to get another captain for this period of time.

Have some information for all. The team cup and singles competitions are tied to this present league. No new team can enter until this has finished, that's classed as my closing season date.

The replacements were added to our league roster and were formed with agreament, to enable the subs to form a team. I am granting them, rightly so, a part in its format.

New teams will be classed and added for next season after this league is finaly finished, this includes the league tournaments. It's obvious why, however I will point out that some new teams are formed by using other teams players, now how do you expect me to allow them to play when their old or present team is involved? I give you loyalty and a lot of my time, now I have heard you are having a captains meeting, then be prepared to get your asses chewed, because I will not be disloyal to my present teams or their captains.

mmm..I never heard about a proposed Captains meeting...

anyway...an idea for the first round 'bye': this could be the first or last place teams from the league season..or maybe The Replacements since they have a disadvantage not having played much together....or, we could take the square root of hovis' patience threshold and multiple it by the number of time ffs is used on table 5 to come up with...etc.

my two cents worth on the team rosters:
I agree with the hov that new teams are for the second season... that events until then that are made up of existing teams should consist of the existing rosters. I also think that, like anytime during the first season, a team should be allowed to extend their roster with a new player who registers but has not played for another team (Birdy's question).

1. Sorry for being a trite impatient in my answer to a rumour. I had explained the reason a few weeks ago on msn and felt a little angry that it went behind my back.

2. MMxx I will try and accomodate you, I will be flexible with dates as much as I can. The problem is that I dont expect to get a date to satisfy all.

3. New registered players after your last game, playing in the league knockout cup. I don't believe it's fair to other teams to allow this, however ignore my words as I think you should decide. I know we will have conflicting answers and am prepared to make the final decision.

4. The team that plays the bye i.e gats a bye to next round, will not be able to play in the plate competition if beaten. I will leave it to chance who draws the bye.

5. League table updates, as soon as I can guys. I will open up an information thread on each competition and give a link to all. This will include format, registration, availability, times, final dates etc.

Thanks for your patience guys and again sorry for being a miserable sod.

lol Bento

You really don't have to change the schedule to accommodate me, sir mate...

For everyone's information: Birdy23 will be the interim captain from now on till somewhere in August.
