The kids have one more day of school (Tuesday) and then they are done for the summer. We are planning to take a few days away, not sure exactly when or where yet. But I do know I NEED A BREAK! Some things have happened here with my job that has made work a very unsettling place...not going to go into the details (way too long and involved) but I have ended up with a harasser/stalker individual. Just SO NOT what I invisioned when "going back to work" on a regular basis! But I hope to have it resolved soon...I could use any prayers or positive thoughts you could send my way! :)

Personally, I do not like the idea of one big division -- if you fall behind midway, most teams will give up as it will be impossible to get ahead with so many teams in the pot, and the fun, or at least the competitiveness or ambition, would be gone for those teams. With two divisions, we all reach for playoffs, and with fewer opponents, you can still reach your goal even if you are far behind midway through.

I believe by certain individuals calling it a minor and major league (or the 2nd division a loser's division) earlier in some threads is unnecessary and inaccurate, only planting a seed that doesn't need to be there (I noticed all initially calling it that were in the first division). Personally, it wouldn't matter to me whether I was in the first or second division -- I'm only here to play and have fun with friends.

As it stands, it is nothing more than a way to create the two divisions, in my eyes -- it's not about minor or major anything -- and we all start the new season on equal footing, all playing for the same goal -- the playoffs. So my view is two divisions.

Omaha as a separate league is fine with me -- either or, actually. Whether it's included in original league or separate doesn't matter to me. Same structure for an omaha league if there are enough teams for two divisions, or one division if there are fewer teams.

I also think the point system is fine the way it is -- I find the extra 5 points to the winning team pointless (no pun intended). I realize the WC has adopted this, but the league has worked great with the existing point system for 2 seasons now -- and it's about team play -- striving to get the best points from every game, even if you don't win that particular match. A 20 vs. 19 win keeps it close and focuses on what the league is about -- team play. Adding 5 to that 20 doesn't make sense to me.

The league has worked wonderfully so far -- I see no reason to change this.

My thoughts. What are yours?

OK - here goes.

Two divisions - but not labelled 1 and 2, or A and B.
Maybe something like Diamond Group and Club Group.

4 points for a win, 2 for a tie, 0 for a loss.
Bonus point for having 3 players in the last 3 (winning teams)
Bonus point for having at least 1 of the last 3 players (losing teams)

Top four progress to semi-finals.
Winner of Diamond Group plays second place in Club Group.

Final.

Simple, but effective !!

Same as Fred and Roy.....I'll go along with the team consensus. I just don't quite understand all that scoring mumbo jumbo. But don't really agree with the division 1 and 2 stuff to start out the new season with....shouldn't everyone start with a clean slate and on equal grounds. It shouldn't matter what happened this season to put teams in diff divisions.
