Oke Graham, U asked my to answer the questions for friday. I cant be there but Tia will be there to do the job.
So here it goes...

Q1 Depends on the team. They can have more then 10 in a team if they wish.
Q2 Only Holdm most players come here to play holdm, I think its to mutch so NO
Q3 points same as in league, we all now that and are familiair with it.
Q4 I`d like to play all countries and after that we look at the total amount of points.
Q5 Players can only play for the team if they have the nationality of that team in my opinion. We have benedutch (Belgium/Netherlands) so all must be 1 of the 2 countries.
Q6 same as Q1
Q7 don't understand the question, but Tia will answer on that
Q8 sure my suggestion is 2 but no limit of how much players in that team and no swapping between the teams allowed, so there will be a locked team..

Q 10 Don't understand that question either so up to Tia
Q11 no swopping and 2 teams for the big countries with locked teams.
Q 12 No cause this is not a individual tournament , U cant keep track witch player is the best, cause the best can be the lots of donating player, so definite NO

Well the first meeting of the countries involved in the upcoming World Cup of Poker was held a few hours ago (2100 Fri 18th December) present were:
G50raham - Australia
Tianda - Beaudutch
Jotatuga - Rest of Europe
MacDaddy - England
Placer US

Absentees: Canada
Celts
Rest of the World
Macedonia
There were other smaller teams absent (Asia) but it is doubtful they will enter a team this year, the meeting was called by me to answer some questions prior to the games starting, basically we resolved to follow these simple standards.
The World Cup will commence in the second seek of January, at present 92 players have registered and a total (at present) of 12 teams will be competing. A further point came up that The Rest of The World Team doesnt look as if it will be able to enter a team so it was proposed that they merge with Europe, this will mean a name change for Europe into The Rest of The World and they will have enough players to enter 2 teams.
Resolved: Texas Hold 'Em only will be played - may expand to include Omaha in the future
Resloved: Hovis' league takes priority over the World Cup.
Resolved: Points awarded to teams will be the same as in the present league plus 5 extra points for the win.
Resolved: Each team will play the other teams once only
Resolved: Players can nominate for either their country of residence or country of birth, however once the matches commence no changing teams is permitted, a player may change teams for the following year.
Resolved: Countries that have 2 teams must nominate a team to each player (i.e. US1 or US2) and NO interchange is permitted for the remainder of the season. Teams must consist of a minimum of 7 players, a team may still recruit new players throughout the season but they must be allocated a team before they play and they must stay in that team until the season is complete.
Resolved: A team must have a minimum of 7 players, maximum number to Captains discretion
Resolved: There will not be an individual champion (based on personal points accumulated)
Resolved: The World Cup of Poker will become an annual event.
Resolved: As no referees are required, any problems will be addressed by all team Captains.

Can you please put your players into teams and nominate them here by 2359 4th January 2010, reminder these teams cannot be interchanged once you list them, you may also list them (the team) under any name you wish as long as it is easily idetifiable with your country
i.e. England 1 or US West - your choice.

Hi Night / Tincat,

As you are both aware I have been canvassing the other Captains to decide what to do if your match isn't played by the 7th.

In many cases the various Captains each wanted different scores to be awarded but as this is a fun game and the aim is to improve international relations, make new friends and improve TFPR site, it has been decided to give you an additional 10 days to play your match.

You have until midnight (GMT on the 15th February 2010) to play your match, if it cannot be played by then, for whatever reason the points will be awarded to Canada (33 points and Warriors 6 points) no-one will be awarded the 5 for the win as no match took place.

This is in Canada's favour because (as many Captains put it):
1) There was no reason to cancel other than TinCats computer problems;
2) The lateness of the cancellation;
3) The lack of a suitable date being requested by the Warriors between cancellation (30Jan10) and today (as HOME team it is the Warriors responsibility to organize the match date and table booking).

To their credit the majority of Captains do not want to penalize the Warriors unfairly (particularly those who were able to play on the original date (NOTE: US1 played Benedutch with only 4 players recently).

The voting was 2 each to all 3 options with some variations, therefore I have taken certain elements from all suggestions are formatted the above response.

Having just checked Canada's team thread I see they are playing Europe on the 12th February, it is requested that Canada respond favorably to all requests for this match (against the Warriors) to be played. The Warriors MUST give Canada AT LEAST 4 days notice to play. I hope everyone concerned believes this s the fairest way to handle this situation, Rules will be formatted (for 2011 World Cup) to include this incident and hopefully avoid future repeat occurrences.

Graham, for your information, usa1 didnt play with 4 against us , it was 5 v 5 we agreed they might bring up a player who was to l8 registered in team and we said oke , you can play, cause for us its fun too and if we can help we will. I think sometimes captains can ask for favor to the other captain to sort things out, thats where this site is ment for, to be kind and helpfull to eachother when needed...

For who wants to know, I voted 33-6 for canada cause of the short notice and they could have played with 4...But the outcome of this problem is a well taken decision from Graham in my view...

Sorry Ron, I believe they played with 4 against Macedonia - thinking of us playing you in a few hours has scrambled my brain (which doesnt get a lot of use anyway)

Just an fyi -- our match against euro1 is being played on Saturday, Feb 13 (not the 12th).

Have yet to hear from the warriors.
