Guys sorry for being negative, but the world cup is in danger of becoming farsical, we now have a Scotland team that I as a Scot may have to play against. To qualify for the Scotland team, accoring to the thread, no disrespect, all you have to have done is, drink whiskey, eat haggis or eat a scotch pie. The world cup was a great concept exceptionally organised and run, but I would feel uncomfortable playing against Scotland having been born, bred and still resident there.
The line has to be drawn somewhere.
As ever your thoughts are welcome.

Regards Jamie

Edit to include: above is in response to pardons post in celtic cavs thread. Again no offence intended good luck to all.

Sorry Jamier but thats not the case and swearing on msn about Scotland was my decider.Anyway England Pats,England Royals sound sort of English to me.

jamie , i think you will find the comments made on the thread were in jest and mainly from English players.
Your post wouldn't have anything to do with the fact one of the Scotland team didnt sign for your league team?

No offense, good luck

Folks.
Its a personal thing, as I said,I am a patriotic Scot and I will find it strange playing against a Scottish team.
It has nothing to do with the league, it really does'nt matter what team folks play for.

The swearing on msn was not derisory or anti Scottish, it was solely that I will find it strange playing against fellow Scots, I tried to explain that at the time, obviously to no avail.

I was expressing my opinion as a Scot that is all, if it appeared otherwise it was certainly not intended.

I wish the Scotland team the very best of luck for the coming season.

Lang may yur lums reek.

Hi all, I must agree with adder. There was a lot of joking on the Scotland team thread, myself included. This does not mean that we do not take it seriously and would accept any nationality into the team. So far we have a strong foundation of players with many more possibles. With Pardon at the helm I am sure that we will surprise a few people.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Adder who has put a lot of time and effort into the organisation so far.

As regards Jamier, I am pleased that he has such strong feelings about the Scotland Team. Maybe as suggested he should consider playing with them. I for one would welcome his inclusion.

Hi Tia after a tie in choice for name for the new Scotland team I used the time honoured captains approach of tossing a coin and so the Tartan Army was born.So if you could please consider our name as the Tartan Army now.Thank you.

I see no problem why the Scotland team would not be registered, but that is a question that G50 can answer.
The team name was first 'Scotland team' but has been changed into 'Tartan Army'

Hi everyone,

I was of the opinion the MacDaddy was the 2011coordinator of the next WC championship, I will not be partaking in the next one and I have grave doubts that there will be an Australian team entered.
All team Captains will recall that when a vote was taken about when the next one would be held I was the only one who voted for 2011 (after the league finished) everyone else voted for September and as a result I forwarded all info to Mac, if Mac is no longer around may I suggest a new coordinator be sourced and I will send him/her all the info I have.

I expect to be leaving the site before the end of the year to begin my lifetime holiday sailing around the world, so therefore I am not taking any part in this or future World Cups, may I wish you all the best and play safe and nice.

Hi G,

Seems if mac isnt going to be around we should organise a new captains meeting to see if we can get a new co-ordinator for WC.... I am pretty busy with one thing or another but would be willing to assist anyone that wants to take on the role in a joint capacity.....
Would also like to reitterate the many sentiments of thanks to both yourself and Tia for the great work you both did organising and co-ordinating the inaugral WC, which made it such a fun and brilliant event for all to take part in....
Wishing you well on your travels mate and hope to meet up with you at some point on your journey...

Hiya Graham,, i was thinking you might need a first mate on your trip, i will leave a list of qualifications below...

1. experienced in all seafood culinary delights,,
2. never been sea sick ( small incident once trying to shotgun a keg on a pontoon boat)
3.known to master the language of bare breasted island girls in mere seconds
4.have over 100 get out of jail free cards ( comes in handy in those tropical ports)
5.i watched every episode of Gilligans island ( in case of ship wreck)
6.read the book 101 ways to eat a palm tree ( also in case of ship wreck)

these are just a few of the attributes that i believe will make me a wonderful candidate for first mate,,,,
