It's come to my attention that the use of google translator to banter in the native tongue of teams who speak a different language has become an issue (to at least two people).
Use of a language other than English is against the rules.
The fact that the top two WC teams have a different first language is purely coincidental. This has always been a rule and this was an issue (though unspoken) as far back as when Canada was still winning.

Just to be clear, no language other than English will be tolerated.
Including an English translation is not going to change the rule.
This is the rule and so it must be followed very strictly.
Posts that include a language other then English will be deleted, along with their English translations.

Seriously, this needs to stop. I don't care if it makes you laugh. It leaves people who are allergic to instant electronic translations (or faulty copy/paste skills) completely in the dark.

it would seem that the posting of separate (and not very well thought out) "forum rules" by the moderation team has come back to bite some butt.

oh snap!
Emil:
It is allowed to post in the native language in world cup team threads. Previously the rules about language use in the forums were unclear.

I added a rule on http://www.thefreepokerroom.com/forum/1_3139_1.html just now. If this should change we'll let you know.

and when he said unclear, he meant absent
Thank you, man behind the curtain, for clearing this up so quickly.

Sorry if I unnecessarily inconvenienced anyone with faulty information. Turns out it's cool in the team threads where English is a second language...which is really the only place this was happening. So apologies, all people I've accused of rule breaking.
The fact that this was aimed at Ron and moi was entirely coincidental. Please don't accuse anyone of conducting a witch hunt; table moderators have every right to carry over their duties and rules onto the forum. And forum mods ought to follow their lead, always. Otherwise, the terrorists win.

Again, my apologies to all members inconvenienced by this thread.
Please note that any attempts at fun will still be subject to close scrutiny, so don't assume you can just do as you darn well please.
Now move it along people, nothing to see here
