You are using words ,that are to say the least, not nice....labeling the league(s), the divisions (if there will be any) you seem to forget by 'labeling' that you are labeling the people who are playing in the teams.....how can you do that if you know that nothing is decided yet.

How ever the league will look like ....you seem to forget the most important thing why we are here......to sit down with friends at a table..... to play a good game of poker.....to be able to have a laugh, to have fun..... to relax after work in an pleasant environment.....surely this is why we are here, no?

Your right tia, ev1 does play for fun, but you forget the competitive nature of this too. Alot of people love to compete and try to win. one should aknowledge this aspect, cause if you didnt agree why have a league table in the first place, they should all be organised friendlies. Where there no league table or excitement of playoffs.

i think consensus is that most want a league of equal footing and i hope the organisers give the members want. As i saw with the omaha vote and emils thread and finns short lived thread things might be moving that way, which is asking the members. hopefully we dont do a u turn now.

thats why the format described by many about a two league equal format is the best

( for example if X has match with Y, and X has less points than Y,
then team Y let X choose the game. )

under this porposal bat ev1 wont have pld the same amount of game, also teams could make the poor old dealers play all omaha games and no texas. As they are very strong in texas.

lol, teams can do this only if they scored less than dealers.

If dealers are ahead while having played only omaha,
then it's not a good tactic to go on omaha with them...

Tia, i understand what your saying , but you must also see that there would be no league or any team sports if there weren't a desire to win.I have played in the boy girl games, any invites that i can get in and the over under game , these are all just for fun and a lot of fun is had.These games have no structure are not very organized and are a great time for all, but everyone there is there to win, thats why we play poker. In league format we work hard at learning how to play as a team, chip passing ,what hands can open, we play friendlys to see the style of play our opponents use, all these things we do to try and win the match when held. So to say that being in a minor league shouldnt matter , that we are just here to play, is contrary to why we play in a league.

One word people: patience.

(I did point out earlier that I found that the first question to us should have been, do you want a big league without omaha or 2 leagues with omaha...)

I like to play all teams, I did say that was my first vote, because of that wasnt asked I voted NO to Omaha because if the majority(even small) would vote NO to omaha, the chances of 1 big league would have grown ..
Its not that I dont like Omaha but its denies us to play all teams wich is my first wish....
We always can have another format for only Omaha..

I will go along with whatever is decided. I loved playing in the league in season one when the Puffs were 2nd from the bottom. I'll admit it is slightly more enjoyable to do well, but only a little bit; )

Ron the issue here is that half the league voted for Omaha to be included, by stopping omaha u are taking these members out. But if it's decided there's no Omaha then having 1 league is very easy

Now if we did have Omaha we would need a 2 league stucture. For this one based on equal standings is the best based on the examples I give earlier that we could end up having very strong teams maybe the best in the minor league

I do think if you have half the members saying "No...gawd, please no" to Omaha, then it would figure; why have half of the people playing totally unhappy -while everybody here digs Hold'em?

A Separate Omaha League would be smashing. Only half the field here playing it, but awesome nonetheless.

One League playing every team, one Omaha League.

Hence my idea of similar patience...went to check again (just to be sure)....and to my great surprise they were all the banned gits from here, but still holding their last hand...well...in hand. There was a deafening silence greeting me...but no dead ones...just deadly blinks. I guess that could be called the ban-purgatory.

Well...now I ran out of any striking climax for the end of the story, but that's my attention span running aground.

As to the league...all will be good folks. We all know Tia is a miracle worker...;-))
